Bolt and Uklon Resume Taxi Services in Kyiv During Curfew Hours

Taxi services Bolt and Uklon have announced the resumption of operations in Kyiv during curfew hours, following approval from local authorities.

According to the companies’ press services, taxis can now be ordered overnight starting from 12:00am on January 17. The decision is intended to support residents during critical nighttime hours, particularly amid ongoing disruptions to infrastructure and essential services.

“Every nighttime trip is not just a ride, but direct assistance to residents — helping them reach resilience centres, medical facilities, railway stations, their homes, or deliver food and medicines to loved ones,” Uklon said in a statement. “Your participation today is a critical support for the city.”

Bolt echoed the message, emphasising its role in helping residents access warmth, electricity and medical care. “We are here to help people get to heated locations, resilience centres, places with power and connectivity, reach hospitals on time, or receive deliveries of food, medicine and essential goods,” the company said.

While the service is now available during curfew hours, both companies and city officials have urged residents to request taxis at night only in cases of urgent need, stressing the importance of minimising unnecessary movement during restricted hours.

The move highlights the role of ride-hailing platforms in maintaining essential mobility in Kyiv, as the city continues to operate under wartime restrictions and emergency conditions.
