Brush up on your French – and your murder-mystery instincts. Season four of The White Lotus is heading to the French Riviera, with the lavish Château de la Messardière set to serve as the main filming location.
According to Variety, the new season of creator Mike White’s hit series will shoot at the 19th-century château, along with other properties in the Riviera and at least one location in Paris.
Perched on a hilltop above Saint-Tropez, the five-star Airelles property has long been a magnet for the international jet set. Originally built as a wedding gift by a wealthy cognac merchant for his daughter, the château is surrounded by expansive grounds with sweeping views over the Bay of Saint-Tropez, the vineyards of Ramatuelle, and the beaches of Pampelonne. It has also been named one of Vogue’s best hotels in the South of France.
Today, the hotel offers guests an ultra-luxury experience that includes a private fleet of chauffeured Rolls-Royce cars, a tennis court set in lush greenery, a large central swimming pool, and extensive landscaped gardens – a setting tailor-made for the chaos, intrigue, and darkly comic excess that have become hallmarks of The White Lotus.
While plot details remain tightly under wraps, sources cited by Variety suggest that the new season may involve the Cannes Film Festival, hinting at a storyline tied to the European film and celebrity circuit.
Casting announcements confirm that AJ Michalka and Alexander Ludwig will appear in season four. Fans are also speculating about the possible return of a familiar face, following previous seasons that brought back characters played by Jennifer Coolidge and Natasha Rothwell.
There is no official release date yet for season four, but industry expectations point to a premiere in late 2026 or early 2027.
