Boryspil International Airport and Flughafen Wien AG, the operator of Vienna Airport, have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation that establishes a long-term strategic partnership between two of Central and Eastern Europe’s leading aviation hubs.
The agreement focuses on collaboration in several key areas, including:
Development of passenger and cargo transportation
Implementation of European operational and safety standards
Optimization of airport operations
Expansion of terminal and ground infrastructure
Growth of non-aviation services
Joint strategies and long-term development programs
Launching research, innovation, and pilot projects
“This Memorandum is a strategically important step that turns our intentions into a practical tool for preparing the recovery of Ukraine’s aviation industry after the war,” said Oleksiy Dubrevskyy, CEO of Boryspil International Airport. “Cooperation with such a reputable partner as Vienna Airport is a key to the rapid implementation of advanced European standards. We are not just sharing our experience, we are enhancing our operational readiness for the moment when Ukraine’s airspace reopens for civilian flights.”
The Boryspil delegation’s visit to Vienna, held from 20 to 24 October 2025, included workshops on route development, slot coordination, and capacity management, as well as technical tours and official meetings with Vienna Airport management.
The partnership marks a significant milestone for post-war aviation recovery planning, positioning Boryspil to quickly reintegrate into the European air transport network once conditions allow.
