Ukraine and Moldova Launching a Railway Line

Ukraine and Moldova are launching a railway line that was built after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.

On March 22, The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and Moldova, as well as the customs services of both countries announced the signing of the Protocol on the organization of joint control at the checkpoint for the “Serpneve-1 – Basarabyaska” railway connection.

The border guards and customs officers of Ukraine and Moldova have previously agreed to start joint control in the coming days at the joint checkpoint for the “Serpneve-1 – Basarabyaska” railway connection.

The use of the transition will start from midnight on March 25.

The new crossing makes it possible to largely compensate for the railway connection over the Zatoka bridge, which has repeatedly been the target of Russian missile attacks.
