Kyiv–Bucharest Train to Stop in Moldova for the First Time

Ukrzaliznytsia has announced that the Kyiv–Bucharest train will now make additional stops in Moldova, offering passengers new travel options between Ukraine and Romania.

The international train, which operates daily, will add three new stops: Ungheni, Bălți-Oras, and Ocnita. Border control procedures will take place at Vălcineț and Ungheni stations.

Tickets are already available on the Ukrzaliznytsia app and website, with a first-class compartment ticket priced at around 3,900 UAH.

Train schedule and route
The route runs through Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Zhmerynka, Mohyliv-Podilskyi, Vălcineț, Ungheni, Ocnita, Bălți-Oras, Iași, and Bucharest.

Trains will depart from Kyiv at 6:30 a.m. and arrive in Bucharest at 6:47 a.m. the following day. In the opposite direction, the train will leave Bucharest at 7:10 p.m. and arrive in Kyiv at 7:41 p.m. the next day.

The new Moldovan stops are expected to enhance cross-border travel and strengthen railway connectivity between Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania — three countries now increasingly linked by passenger routes across Central and Eastern Europe.
