Leased from SMBC, the Irish lessor, the newly-received Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft passed an official registration procedure in Ukraine and received the UR-PSS registration number. The aircraft arrived at Kiev Boryspil International airport on the 10th of June, 2016, and has been successfully put into commercial operation. The first UR-PSS flight is scheduled for June 13 and will be operated between Kiev and Kutaisi.
The aircraft was produced in 2009 and has passenger capacity of 186 seats. Before being leased to UIA, it passed scheduled overhaul: the aircraft was equipped with new seats and fixed catering equipment, the key interior elements were novelized as well.
“We keep on implementing our 2016 fleet renewal and expansion program, – noted Yuri Miroshnikov, UIA President. – Thanks to the proficiency and teamwork of both UIA and our international partners, we strictly comply with the delivery schedule. I do hope we will keep sticking to the schedule as it will allow implementing our route network expansion plans and offering our passengers high-class service”.
Ukraine International Airlines’ fleet currently consists of 36 airliners, including 17 Boeing 737 NG aircraft.
