Meliá Hotels International bolsters Vietnam Portfolio with signing of Meliá Ho Tram

Meliá Hotels International today announced the signing of Meliá Ho Tram, marking the group’s fourth property under operation in Vietnam after the successful Meliá Hanoi, Meliá Danang and Sol Beach House Phu Quoc. This new agreement expands Meliá’s footprint in Vietnam, underscored by the company’s resort management leadership, to cater to the increasing demands of tourism and travel in the country.

meliahotram_0Managed under the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand and owned by Tanzanite International, the resort is located within The Hamptons Ho Tram complex and was recently awarded by the prestigious Vietnam Property Awards in the categories of Best Hotel Development, Best Hotel Interior Design, and Best Villas Landscape and Architecture. Once completed in the second half of 2018, the resort will feature a total of 156 hotel suites and 98 villas.

“The expansion of our Vietnam portfolio in one of the most dynamic regions in the world is strong indication our growth strategy is paying off,” said Bernardo Cabot Estarellas, Senior Vice President Asia Pacific of Meliá Hotels International. “Our company has an impeccable track record and has been an established leader in the resort segment for decades; coupled with our extensive hotel management expertise, we’ve always been the top pick for demanding hotel owners. Today we join with Tanzanite International and are excited to offer travellers to the Asia Pacific region an unparalleled luxury resort and beachfront living experience.”

Renowned for its pristine beaches and a gorgeous countryside, The Hamptons Ho Tram is located approximately 95 kilometers southeast of Ho Chi Minh City, along the same beach strip as the Grand Casino and the Bluffs Golf Course, which hosted the 2015 Asian PGA Championships and won World Golf Awards’ “World’s Best New Golf Course in 2015.”  The area also offers many beachfront restaurants and other leisure and recreational activities.  The beach destination is easily accessible via new highways, which connect Ho Tram to Ho Chi Minh City and neighbouring cities such as Vung Tau, which attracts over 17 million visitors annually.  Also, the proposed new international airport in the nearby city of Long Thanh is expected to be operational around 2022, which will cut down travel time to approximately 45 minutes from the new airport to Ho Tram, transforming Ho Tram into an international beach destination and further raising tourism demand.

Meliá Hotels & Resorts is the most international brand of the group, highly valued by travelers worldwide and characterized by the personalized experiences provided through the Passion for Service culture of the brand. Meliá Hotels & Resorts has 126 properties worldwide and over 30 years of presence in Asia; Meliá Ho Tram is yet another reaffirmation of the group’s commitment to the region.

In 2016 Meliá Hotels International celebrates its 60th Anniversary and continues to bolster its Asia portfolio: with 11 hotels open and 23 hotels in the pipeline, the group looks to maintain its robust momentum and double the number of hotels in the region by 2020.
