In Kremenchuk, a Russian missile attack damaged the bridge across the Dnipro River, forcing authorities to suspend traffic. Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) has announced changes to train schedules as emergency repairs are assessed.
According to the company, trains No. 59 Odesa–Kharkiv and No. 8 Kharkiv–Odesa will now operate via Poltava-Kyivska, Romodan, Hrebinka, Taras Shevchenko (Smila), and Znamianka stations. Passengers traveling to Kremenchuk will be transported by bus.
The strike also damaged a suburban train in Kremenchuk, leading to the suspension of electric train services No. 6663 (Kremenchuk–Znamianka) and No. 6664 (Znamianka–Kremenchuk). Officials confirmed the attack hit not only the main power supply but also the winch system of the bridge’s movable span, preventing ships from passing underneath.
The incident underscores the growing vulnerability of critical transport infrastructure along the Dnipro, which serves as a vital link for both civilian and logistical routes.
