Meliá Hotels opens in Leipzig

With a worldwide portfolio of more than 370 hotels, the Spanish group Meliá Hotels International opened a new hotel that belongs to its Innside by Meliá design and lifestyle brand.

00ainnsideleipzig-general_0The new four-star superior hotel with 177 rooms and suites is located at the corner of Dittrichring and trendy Gottschedstraße. Opposite the famous St. Thomas Church, the hotel complex is a homogenous architectural ensemble that consists of two historical buildings and a modern glass roof structure integrating two palace buildings. In addition, an entire new structure was erected in between the bank and the Kosmos building that brought the facade of Schlobach Palais back to the cityscape. The facade was designed by the architect Arwed Rossbach in the middle of the 19th century boasting extensive front decorations with its six-foot stone sculptures.

Following the unique design concept of the Innside by Meliá upscale brand, the stylish residence for business and individual travellers combines an architectural style that perfectly blends into the cityscape with elegant-purist ambience resulting in a spectacular synthesis of the past and the modern age. With their modern furnishings and partly floor-to-ceiling windows, the rooms, designed in monochrome colours that match the classy wood look of the floors, have eye-catching accents thanks to effective indirect lighting. All rooms and suites offer king or queen-size beds, adjustable air conditioning, a 40-inch LED television set, a free soft drink minibar, free WiFi, desks including a media hub and high-speed Internet access, as well as open bathroom concepts with a rain shower.

The hotel provides a special highlight on the fourth floor for sophisticated guests: the “Balcony Suite”. The suite’s own private 50 sqm balcony offers a breathtaking view of St. Thomas Church. With its separate living room and 85 sqm of floor space, this suite is particularly popular among event managers as it can also be booked as an exclusive conference room or a location suitable for private dinners.

Three flexibly combinable meeting rooms fully equipped with state-of-the-art media technology, provide full climate control and daylight on a total area of 250 sqm, complementing the hotel’s conference capabilities. Those who want to keep fit or relax at the end of a working day during their trip can work out in the fitness area equipped with the latest fitness devices and afterwards relax in the sauna including a relaxation room.
