Hilton opens new property in Downtown San Diego

Hilton Worldwide today announced the opening of its newest hotel, the dual-branded Hilton Garden Inn San Diego Downtown/Bayside and Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Downtown/Bayside, bringing a total of 364 new rooms to the heart of downtown San Diego. The opening further establishes Hilton Worldwide’s strong presence in California, and it is another prime example of the company’s expansion into urban areas.

The new Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Downtown/Bayside complements the city’s diverse culture and local attractions that both domestic and international travelers enjoy.

Both properties are located at 2137 Pacific Highway, offering guests a central location and convenient access to the best of San Diego’s local attractions. Nestled between Little Italy and San Diego Bay, the hotel is near the San Diego Cruise Terminals, Seaport Village, Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego Convention Center and San Diego Zoo. Guests can also explore the Old Town, Coronado Island and Mission Bay, which is just a short distance from the hotel’s doorsteps.

The dual-brand concept creates enhanced and larger communal areas than what would be standard at a stand-alone property, benefiting both business and leisure travelers. The hotel has one distinct lobby, two outdoor courtyards for connecting and relaxing, a standalone restaurant, fitness center, and rooftop pool enhancing the guest experience. The hotel also offers 4,500 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting space that can accommodate up to 300 people. Property-wide amenities include a 24-hour Pantry Market, valet parking, laundry service, and a business center.

Hilton Garden Inn has partnered with Los Angeles based restaurant consultants, New School Consulting, to offer guests an elevated on-property dining experience at Pacific Standard Coastal Kitchen. The neighborhood restaurant concept will serve coastal-inspired fare along with an exciting selection of craft cocktails, local beers and west coast wines*. Guests can relax and enjoy breakfast or dinner in its vibrant dining room, al fresco in either of its bay view patios, or in the privacy of their own guest room through evening in-room dining.

In addition, The Pantry Market is open 24 hours and features a complete selection of salty snacks, sweet treats, cold beverages, and frozen, microwaveable packaged items. Guests will also see why Life’s Better at the GardenTM through amenities and services offered at each location, including complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and 24-hour business center with Print SpotsTM remote printing.  Each Hilton Garden Inn guest room feature a king or two queen beds as well as an in-room “hospitality center” with a mini fridge, microwave oven as well as a Keurig coffee maker.

Homewood Suites by Hilton offers a combination of studio and one bedroom accommodations, featuring fully-equipped kitchens, and separate living and sleeping areas. Guests are also afforded all the essentials they need for a comfortable and convenient stay – complimentary Wi-Fi, daily full-hot breakfast, evening social Monday-Thursday in The Lodge, and grocery shopping service***.
