Wizz Air Announces Expansion in Poland with More than 30 New Routes for 2026

Wizz Air has announced a major expansion of its operations in Poland, unveiling plans to launch more than 30 new routes throughout 2026. The move marks a strategic realignment for the Hungarian low-cost carrier, positioning Poland as a central growth market while the airline scales back in the Middle East.

According to Wizz Air, its Middle Eastern operations have not met financial expectations due to intense competition from full-service giants such as Emirates and Etihad, as well as limited demand for ultra-low-cost travel in the region. In contrast, Poland continues to deliver strong results: between January and November 2025, the airline carried around 13 million passengers to and from the country, up 20 percent compared to the previous year.

The new routes will be introduced gradually during winter 2025/2026 and the summer 2026 season, covering destinations in Norway, the Netherlands, Greece, Croatia, Iceland and more.

Key new Wizz Air routes from Poland:

Airport (Poland) | Key new destinations | Season
Katowice | Brașov, Brindisi, Faro, Lamezia Terme, Ohrid, Rimini, Rijeka | Spring/Summer 2026
Gdańsk | Athens, Nice, Podgorica, Tallinn, Vilnius, Rijeka. Winter 2025/2026: Poprad–Tatry | Winter 2025 / Summer 2026
Lublin | Maastricht, Rijeka | Spring 2026
Szczecin | Bergen, Podgorica | Spring/Summer 2026
Poznań | Basel, Podgorica | Summer/Autumn 2026
Kraków | Bilbao | Winter 2025/2026
Warsaw (Modlin/Chopin) | Bratislava (Chopin), plus 11 additional Modlin routes | Winter 2025/2026

Wizz Air’s accelerated expansion underscores the growing importance of the Polish aviation market, where the carrier now ranks among the strongest and fastest-growing airlines. With travel demand surging and airport partnerships deepening, Poland is set to remain a cornerstone of Wizz Air’s European network in 2026 and beyond.
