The Ukrainian passport has risen in the prestigious Henley & Partners global passport ranking. Ukraine now holds the 29th position out of 199 countries, allowing its holders to travel visa-free to 147 countries worldwide.
For comparison, in January 2024, Ukraine was ranked 32nd with visa-free access to 148 countries. The improved position means Ukrainians enjoy easier travel opportunities abroad, even though the number of visa-free destinations has slightly decreased.
The top spot remains with Singapore, whose passport grants visa-free entry to 193 countries. Japan and South Korea share second place, offering access to 190 countries without a visa. Seven European Union countries, including Finland, France, and Spain, tie for third place, with visa-free travel to 189 countries.
The Henley Passport Index, established in 2006, updates monthly, assessing travel freedom for citizens of over 190 countries worldwide. The weakest passport belongs to Afghanistan, providing visa-free access to only 25 countries.
The Ukrainian passport’s steady rise is a positive signal for travelers, businesspeople, and students planning trips abroad.
