A new 32-kilometer tourist route named “Stezha: Secrets of Tovtry” has been officially marked near the popular balneological resort of Sataniv. The trail, equipped with directional signs and informational boards, aims to reveal the natural and historical wonders of the region, part of the Podilski Tovtry National Nature Park.
The route passes through several unique natural and historical sites, including:
Husykova Hora (Husyk Hill): Part of the Tovtry ridge, shrouded in legend about the Podilski robber Husyk, who supposedly hid his treasures here. In spring, the hill is covered with a carpet of the rare Red Book-listed plant Zinovati Podilski.
Beech Primeval Forests: Near the village of Ivankivtsi, visitors can see centuries-old beech forests, marking the easternmost edge of this species’ natural range in Europe.
The project was implemented by the Center for Development Initiatives “InSors” in collaboration with the Sataniv Village Council. Directional signs and informational boards along the trail provide insights into the local landmarks and cultural heritage, making the route accessible and engaging for tourists.
