russians Destroyed the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station

The Russian army detonated the dam of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station. The explosion occurred around 3 am on June 6th.

As a result of the detonation inside the machine hall, the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station was completely destroyed. The station is beyond repair.

Due to the explosion, there is a threat of flooding for up to 80 settlements, as reported by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. Additionally, there is a possibility of depriving people of drinking water in the southern part of Kherson region and in Crimea.

The evacuation of people from potential flood zones on the right bank of the Dnipro River is currently underway. This includes the villages of Mykolaivka, Olhivka, Liovo, Tiahinka, Ponyativka, Ivanivka, Tokarivka, Ponyativka, Prydniprovsk, Sadove, and partially in Kherson (Korabel microdistrict).

Ukrzaliznytsia has launched evacuation trains due to the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.
