New 115-Meter Bridge Officially Opens in Irpin

Today marks the official opening of a new 115-meter bridge across the Irpin River in Romanivka. The previous bridge was destroyed at the onset of the full-scale invasion and will now serve as a memorial. The ruins of the old bridge will stand as a testament to its role in saving 40,000 residents of Bucha, Hostomel, and Irpin during the occupation of Kyiv region.

The new bridge is equipped with noise barriers, protective fencing, engineering communications, and exterior lighting. Ongoing work includes the adjustment of traffic lights. The purpose of the new bridge is to alleviate congestion in Romanivka during peak hours for incoming and outgoing traffic.

During the occupation of Kyiv region, the Irpin River bridge in Romanivka played a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the local population. The new infrastructure not only honors the historical significance of the site but also addresses current transportation needs in the region.
