Ukrzaliznytsia Adds Zhytomyr–Odesa Connection

The new Zhytomyr–Odesa train route will soon connect the Polissia region with Ukraine’s scenic Black Sea coast, offering travelers a convenient and comfortable way to reach Odesa by rail. Ukrzaliznytsia announced the launch of train No. 148/147, set to begin service in early July, linking Zhytomyr‘s northern city to Odesa’s popular southern destination.

Starting July 11, the train will run every other day from Zhytomyr to Odesa, departing at 13:58 and arriving early the next morning at 06:16. The return service from Odesa to Zhytomyr will begin on July 10, with departures at 19:33 and arrival in Zhytomyr at 12:27 the following day. This schedule is designed to offer convenient overnight travel for both leisure and business passengers.

The new route passes through several important Ukrainian cities including Voznesensk, Pomichna, Hrebinka, and Fastiv. It also serves Cherkasy, a picturesque city on the banks of the Dnipro River, known for its beautiful natural surroundings and vibrant local culture.

Passengers will enjoy a variety of accommodation options on the train, including coupe (compartment) and platzkart (reserved seat) carriages, as well as SV luxury cars that provide enhanced comfort for longer journeys. This variety allows travelers to choose between budget-friendly and premium options depending on their preferences.
