SkyUp Secures Long-Term Fuel Support in EU

SkyUp Airlines has secured long-term fuel support in the EU through the extension of its agreement with Baltic Ground Services (BGS). The renewed partnership ensures continued aviation fuel supply at two key airports: Riga (RIX) in Latvia and Tallinn (TLL) in Estonia.

The Ukrainian low-fare airline has been working with BGS since 2022, a period marked by operational challenges and regional instability. Despite the difficulties, both companies have deepened their collaboration, signaling mutual trust and a shared commitment to long-term growth in the European aviation market.

Vitalis Dūdys, Head of Commerce at BGS Group, commented on the deal’s significance: “Our partnership with SkyUp began in 2022, and the fact that it has continued despite the challenges posed by the current geopolitical situation reflects our mutual trust and commitment to the long-term. The BGS team is ready to ensure smooth operations of SkyUp aircraft at Riga and Tallinn airports, thus contributing to the company’s expansion in the region.”

SkyUp Airlines has steadily expanded its operations in the European Union over the past two years. The extension of the fuel agreement is expected to further enhance the airline’s ability to maintain efficient service across its growing route network.

Dmytro Sieroukhov, CEO of SkyUp Airlines, acknowledged the role BGS has played in supporting the airline’s progress: “Since 2022, we have been actively operating in the EU market, consistently expanding our geographical reach. The aviation sector is extremely dynamic, and it is especially important to have a reliable and strong partner. We are confident in our continued partnership with BGS.”

BGS, a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group, is known for providing ground handling, fueling, and logistics services across multiple European airports. The company’s continued cooperation with SkyUp underlines its commitment to supporting resilient and emerging carriers in the region.

With the fuel supply deal in place, SkyUp is expected to maintain stable operations and continue pursuing new opportunities for expansion in the European market.
