Ukrzaliznytsia has unveiled Ukraine’s first-ever art train, transforming three specially equipped railway cars into a mobile exhibition titled “Courage of a Nation”, which tells the story of Ukrainian resilience through the lens of American philanthropist and photographer Howard G. Buffett.
The immersive art experience was developed in collaboration with two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Muhammed Muheisen, who led the concept design. To create a full sensory journey, the train cars have been outfitted with custom lighting and music, offering visitors a deeply emotional and artistic perspective on the strength of the Ukrainian people.
The art train debuted in Odesa, where it will remain open to the public through June 17. After that, it will begin a four-month tour, stopping at 63 railway stations across Ukraine—from frontline regions to the Carpathian Mountains. Due to security concerns, the full schedule will not be publicly disclosed.
Admission to the exhibition is free, though visitors are encouraged to register online in advance to avoid queues.
The “Courage of a Nation” train-gallery is not just an exhibition on wheels—it’s a tribute to national spirit, designed to bring art, history, and hope directly to the people, even in the most remote or affected areas.
